Your IPTV playlist tells you the channel name. Yerman Player can also try to tell you what's actually on.
Play your own M3U, M3U URL or Xtream IPTV through the browser and see Now & Next EPG programme information on recognised Live TV channels — even when you haven't supplied Yerman Player with a separate XMLTV EPG URL.
Many IPTV players can display an EPG when the playlist or provider already supplies correctly configured programme-guide information. The problem comes when the EPG is missing, incomplete, incorrectly mapped or simply does not work.
Yerman Player takes a different approach. For Live TV channels, it can attempt to identify the channel using available playlist information and Yerman's existing channel and programme database.
If a suitable match is found, the player can show what is on now and what is coming next.
EPG matching depends on the channel and available programme data. Yerman cannot guarantee a programme match for every channel.
An IPTV player with EPG combines stream playback with an Electronic Programme Guide so you can see programme information alongside Live TV channels.
Instead of seeing only a channel name such as BBC One, ITV1 or Sky Sports News, an EPG-enabled IPTV player can also show the current television programme and what is scheduled next.
EPG stands for Electronic Programme Guide. It is essentially the TV schedule data that gives a player information such as programme title, start time, finish time and, where available, programme descriptions.
This is why people often search for an IPTV player with TV guide, M3U player with EPG, Xtream player with EPG or IPTV player showing what's on now.
Traditionally, adding EPG to an IPTV playlist can require a separate XMLTV source.
The player needs the playlist channels and the XMLTV channels to line up correctly. If the identifiers do not match, the result can be a perfectly valid playlist with empty programme-guide information.
Yerman Player can attempt to solve part of this problem automatically.
When Live TV channels are displayed, Yerman can send the relevant channel information through its EPG matching system and search for a suitable programme source.
Where a confident match is available, Yerman Player can display Now & Next without requiring you to manually add an XMLTV URL to the player first.
That does not mean every channel on every playlist will automatically receive an EPG. Channel naming, available programme data and the confidence of the match all matter.
Yerman Player accepts your own M3U or TXT playlist file and can organise compatible entries into Live TV, Movies and Series.
For Live channels, playlist metadata such as the channel name and available TV identifiers can be used to help find a corresponding programme-guide channel.
This makes Yerman useful when searching for an M3U player with EPG, M3U player with TV guide, M3U playlist player with Now and Next or an online M3U player with programme information.
You can also provide a remote M3U URL instead of uploading a local playlist file.
If you use compatible Xtream Codes credentials, Yerman Player can validate your server, username and password and expose the available Live TV, Movies and Series sections.
Live channels can then be processed through the same Yerman EPG matching system when they are displayed.
This gives you an Xtream Codes web player with EPG without making the programme-guide experience entirely dependent on the provider's own EPG mapping.
Yerman Player currently focuses on the information that is most useful while choosing a channel:
This lets you browse Live TV and make a viewing decision without needing to open every channel first.
A blank IPTV EPG does not necessarily mean the playlist itself is broken.
There are several separate parts involved in producing a working programme guide.
A failure in the mapping stage is particularly common. The stream itself may work perfectly while the programme guide remains empty.
IPTV channel names are rarely consistent.
One playlist might call a channel:
Those names may all refer to the same underlying television channel. A simple exact-text comparison can therefore miss otherwise obvious matches.
Yerman's EPG system normalises channel information and uses available identifiers and channel names to try to resolve these variations against its channel data.
Automatic matching is only used when the system has enough confidence in the result.
See the programme currently airing on recognised Live TV channels.
See what is scheduled immediately after the current programme.
Yerman can attempt to identify channels against its existing EPG resources.
You do not need to supply a separate XMLTV URL for Yerman's own Now & Next matching attempt.
Upload an M3U/TXT playlist or use a remote M3U playlist URL.
Use compatible server, username and password credentials.
Browse and play supported IPTV streams without installing a dedicated Yerman Player application.
EPG and channel browsing are designed around phone screens.
From the user's point of view, the process is deliberately simple.
Behind that simple workflow, IPTV channel identification can be surprisingly difficult.
Playlist channel names can contain country prefixes, quality labels, punctuation and other text that does not necessarily form part of the real television channel name.
Yerman's matching system can use the available playlist identifier where one exists and channel-name matching where required.
The objective is not to attach random programme data to every channel. If Yerman cannot identify a channel confidently enough, it is better for the player to leave the EPG unavailable than knowingly show the schedule for the wrong channel.
A tvg-id can make EPG mapping considerably easier because
it gives the player an identifier rather than relying only on a
display name.
However, real IPTV playlists are not always well configured.
A channel may have no useful tvg-id, or its identifier
may not correspond with the available EPG source.
Yerman can also attempt channel resolution using the channel name and its existing channel index.
That means the absence of a useful playlist EPG identifier does not automatically prevent Yerman from finding programme information.
No — and it is important not to promise that.
Yerman can only show programme information when suitable programme data exists and the playlist channel can be matched with sufficient confidence.
Regional channels, temporary event channels, obscure international stations, badly named entries and channels without available schedule data may remain unmatched.
The player can still display and play a supported stream when EPG is unavailable; the programme-guide feature is additional information.
Yerman Player combines its EPG functionality with browser-based playback.
This means you can open the player in a modern browser, import your own IPTV source and browse recognised Live TV channels with programme information without first installing a dedicated Yerman IPTV app.
It is particularly useful on phones where the channel list, Now & Next information and player controls have been designed around the available mobile screen space.
Yerman Player's Now & Next matching is intended to make Live TV browsing more useful.
If you need a standalone XMLTV guide URL for use in another IPTV application, Yerman also provides its separate EPG tools.
If you already have an M3U playlist, you can open Yerman Player and upload the playlist file or enter its remote M3U URL.
The player parses the playlist into its available sections and groups. When Live channels are displayed, Yerman can attempt to identify them against its EPG data.
Recognised channels can then display Now and Next programme information directly in the channel browser.
If you have compatible Xtream credentials, select Xtream in Yerman Player and enter the server, username and password supplied by your service.
Yerman validates the login and allows you to choose Live TV, Movies or Series.
Live categories and channels are loaded as you navigate rather than requiring the entire IPTV account to be downloaded before you can begin.
Once Live channels are displayed, Yerman's EPG matcher can attempt to provide Now and Next programme information for recognised channels.
First separate the two issues. Stream playback and EPG data are not the same thing.
If a channel plays correctly but shows no programme information, the stream itself may be completely healthy.
The missing part may simply be the connection between the playlist channel and an appropriate programme-guide source.
Opening the playlist in Yerman Player gives its matching system an opportunity to identify the channel independently and find suitable Now & Next data.
This is a common playlist structure. An M3U can contain a working stream URL and a readable channel name without containing everything needed for a traditional XMLTV mapping.
Yerman Player can attempt to use the channel name itself as part of the identification process.
The better and more recognisable the channel information, the greater the opportunity for a reliable match.
Not necessarily.
A channel can stream normally while having no associated programme information. Likewise, an EPG can contain programme information even when the stream itself is temporarily unavailable.
Playback status and EPG availability should therefore be treated as separate checks.
Sometimes. A sufficiently distinctive channel name can be useful for identifying the intended station, particularly when Yerman already has programme data for that channel.
Automatic matching becomes harder when names are generic, heavily modified or shared by several regional versions.
Yerman therefore combines the information that is available rather than assuming that every similar-looking channel name is the same station.
Yerman Player is mobile-first, making it useful if you want an IPTV player with EPG on an iPhone browser without installing a dedicated Yerman Player application.
Open the player in Safari, add your authorised M3U or compatible Xtream source and browse Live TV channels with Now & Next information where matches are available.
Selecting a channel opens the video player, with mobile landscape and fullscreen behaviour designed for phone viewing.
The same web-player approach can be used from compatible modern Android browsers.
There is no separate Yerman Android APK required to access the player interface. Stream compatibility still depends on the source format and device.
An EPG player displays programme information while you browse and watch television channels.
An EPG generator creates a programme-guide source, often in XMLTV format, that can be loaded into compatible IPTV software.
Yerman provides both types of functionality. Yerman Player can display matched Now & Next information during browsing, while the separate Yerman EPG tools are designed for users who need their own XMLTV guide.
Yes. Yerman Player attempts to match recognised Live TV channels against Yerman's programme data and can show Now and Next information where a suitable match is available.
You do not need to provide a separate XMLTV URL for Yerman's automatic Now & Next matching attempt. EPG coverage is not guaranteed for every channel.
It can attempt to. Channel names and Yerman's existing channel index can also be used when a useful playlist identifier is unavailable.
Yes. Yerman Player can accept a remote M3U playlist URL and attempt EPG matching for recognised Live TV channels.
Yes. Live channels loaded from a compatible Xtream service can also be processed by Yerman's EPG matching system.
The channel may not have suitable programme data available, the channel may not have been identified confidently enough, or the available guide may not cover that channel or time period.
No. Programme-guide information and stream playback are separate. A working stream can have no EPG, and a channel with EPG data can still have a temporarily unavailable stream.
Yerman Player is designed for modern mobile browsers including Safari. EPG information can be displayed for recognised channels independently of whether an individual stream ultimately proves browser-compatible.
No. Yerman provides player and EPG tools only. You must supply your own authorised playlist or compatible service.
Add your own M3U, M3U URL or compatible Xtream login and browse Live TV through Yerman Player.
Where a channel can be confidently matched, Now & Next EPG information appears alongside it — without requiring you to manually configure a separate XMLTV URL first.
