What is an M3U playlist editor?

An M3U playlist editor is a tool that lets you modify IPTV or internet radio playlists without manually editing text files. Instead of opening an M3U file in a text editor, you can visually rename channels, organise them into groups, remove broken or duplicate entries, and export a clean playlist that works reliably in IPTV players.

This online editor runs entirely in your browser and does not require VLC or desktop software.

1) Import a playlist

Choose one method. Your playlist is loaded into the editor in your browser.

Upload TXT / M3U

Upload a playlist file from your device.

Import from M3U URL

Paste a playlist URL. We fetch it server-side to avoid browser CORS issues.

URL → TXT tool
Security: blocks private/internal IP ranges (SSRF protection).

Generate from “Active Code” (Xtream)

Enter server URL, username and password. We build the playlist URL and fetch it.

Credentials are not stored.

2) Edit playlist

Use the sidebar to filter by group, then edit channels in the table.

Online M3U editor vs VLC and desktop tools

Online M3U editor

  • No installation or setup
  • Visual editing instead of raw text
  • Fast cleanup of large playlists
  • Works on any device with a browser

VLC & desktop editors

  • Require installation
  • Manual text editing for playlists
  • Better for playback than organisation
  • Less convenient for quick fixes

Why edit an M3U playlist?

Most playlists need cleaning and organisation to work smoothly in players.

Common fixes

  • Rename messy channel titles for easier search
  • Move channels into the right groups (Sports, Movies, Kids)
  • Remove duplicates and dead entries
  • Comment out questionable links instead of deleting

Before / after cleaning

Before:
  • Slow channel switching
  • Players hang on dead links
  • Huge lists with duplicates
After:
  • Smaller playlist with clear groups
  • Faster navigation
  • Less noise, fewer failures

Privacy & safety

Editing happens in your browser. If you import a remote playlist, the server fetches it and returns the content to you. Basic protections block private/internal addresses to reduce SSRF risk.

FAQ

Can I use this editor with very large playlists?

Yes. The editor loads playlists into the browser. For extremely large lists, use search and group filters to keep things responsive.

Does this editor check which channels are online?

The editor is for organising. Use M3U Checker to validate links and remove broken channels, then import the cleaned file here.

Does the exported file work in IPTV players?

Yes. Export creates a standard M3U file with EXTINF metadata and group titles.

Is this tool legal?

It is legal to use with playlists and streams you are authorised to access. The tool does not bypass DRM or access controls.
